Cutting the raw material

The raw material is cut into small plates. After chemical degreasing, the plates are ground, rinsed and dried.

Light / Development

After a UV-sensitive layer (foil) has been applied to the plate, it is exposed on the basis of the created film. Thus the basis for the actual Relief ETCHING PROCESS has been created.

Etching (measuring check)

After the etching process, each plate is again checked for faults and measured.

Painting

Every medal and also the tiniest badge is painted by hand. After painting, the colours are burnt in, so they cannot peel of the piece.

Electroplating

The workpieces are refined in the electroplating process. After the medal has been dipped into the chemical solution, the base of the medal can be shaded, which results in a better contrast and a more legible finish of the font.

Punching

After the metal plates have been cut into strips and pre-bored the strips can be fixed and punched out by means of interceptor pins on the appropriate contour punching tool.

Refining

When the medals are bevelled, the individual pieces are ground along the edges with a diamond. Thus the raw material appears again and gives the piece a shining impression.

Protective paint

The exposed areas are then covered again with a Zapon enamel to prevent subsequent tarnishing of the edges.

Gluing

Badges and barrettes, which are pinned to the lapel, are glued before their back side is treated. Fasteners such as safety pins, wing or screw-type fasteners are glued onto the badges and barrettes.

Final assembly

The medals are equipped with a hanging device in this section, which makes it possible to fit out the medals with different colour ribbons. But also the final checking is part of the tasks of the final assembly.
